Close Minded

closedminded

Over the past year I’ve been told I’m many things. One of these things was being “closed minded.” Often this came from the fact that I didn’t believe the same thing as someone else. An example of this is me not believing in animal rights, or not believing in a god. I am closed minded because I don’t believe what the other person believes. But isn’t it closed minded of them for believing in something, and not accepting an alternative?

I believe in things that are presented to me with valid evidence. If someone tells me they saw a ghost, I will say “prove it.” If I was “open minded” and believed that someone who told me they saw a ghost I could have simply believed a lie. I would then accept that lie and make a claim that “ghosts are real because someone told me they saw one.” Without actually seeing the ghost, I am taking someone else’s belief and using it as my own without any evidence to back up why I believe in ghosts. Such is the case with religion, I was never presented with any proof of a god therefore I will not believe in a god.

For some people being open minded means that I have to agree with them. On the contrary, if I were to agree with everybody I wouldn’t have my own opinion about a subject. There can’t be a world were everyone believes in everything, there will always be someone who disagrees with you. One person also can’t believe in two things that contradict. For example a Catholic who believes in Evolution. However you have people who have two ideas that contradict, and when they argue with you they try to make a valid point. When you disagree with them, they call you closed minded.

Is it bad to be closed minded? Having an open mind can be a really bad thing. If you are a judge, who are you going to believe? If the judge was open minded he would believe both people. But in the real world someone needs to make a decision with proof. If one person can proove that they didn’t do what they are being charged for then they are free to go. However if they can’t  proove it chances are they are guilty and have to be sent to prison.

So am I closed minded for believing in what I believe? Yes and no, I don’t let people tell me something and accept it as fact. If someone can provide me evidence for believing in then I will consider it before accepting it.

Travis Faggot

barker

Ah blink-182, truly a piece of shit band. Tom Delonge, Travis Barker, and that other guy. With hit songs like “What’s My Age Again?” and “First Date.” You can already tell that their songs are aimed at 10 year old elementary school kids. They recently had a concert here in Toronto, and surprise surprise it was sold out. All the 14 year old girls flocked to see Tom Delonge and the gang play shitty music.

I’ve had people on my Facebook and MSN saying “OMG TRAVIS BARKER IS SOOO HOT!!!!” so what the hell? Are people going there for the music, or just to stare at Travis Barker’s chest? This just proves my point that people no longer listen to music for the music and instead have a whole sexual attraction to the band.

Then you have people saying “TRAVIS BARKER IS THE BEST DRUMMER EVER.” Which right there is a bunch of bullshit, there are tons of better drummers than Travis Barker. One time Travis broke his arm, but in order to keep making money he stayed on tour. He then preceded to play his setlist one one hand. People call him a good drummer because he was able to play with one hand. Ha, I find it funny how his music is even possible to play with one hand. So Travis Barker can play Soulja Boy on drums? That just proves on how big of a faggot he really is. And if Travis Barker was REALLY good, how come he is wasting his talent with shitty punk-rock bands?

Bruno, Too Gay For Gays

bruno

So back when I first watched Bruno a bunch of people said “Bruno was gay, don’t see it.” At that point I am wondering if the people are actually calling the movie gay or if they’re using the word gay as a synonym for shitty. If it’s the first one I would ask them “well what did you expect, it is a movie about a gay guy.” And if it’s the second choice I would say “well what did you expect, Borat was pretty stupid as well, therefore it would be the same kind of humour.” With both questions I usually received a pretty stupid answer: “trudat.”

But this led me to think of a reason why some of my friends loved the movie, and why some of my friends hated it. Then I got it, the reason people hated Bruno is because they aren’t confident in their sexuality. Bruno had a scene were there was a dancing penis. “OH DEAR GOD, THIS IS THE WORST SHIT EVER.” Fuck you man, if you get offended by looking at a penis I wonder how you take a piss everyday.

Now I understand the random shit happening is not every one’s choice of movie. God knows it’s not first on my list of best genres. Like others, I enjoy carefully structured humour that is pretty subtle. In this case, I wouldn’t call Bruno gay but rather I’d call it stupid. Plus, we all know it’s not gay as long as the balls don’t touch.

Why Did I Pay To See This Again?

epiccrap

So this summer has been boring when it comes to movies. It seems everything good is coming out in August. Now there is one thing I don’t understand. How do shitty movies make so much money?

Remember Disaster Movie? Shit sucked right? Then how the hell did it make $34,000,000? Some people I talked to said “it looked good from the trailer.” To that I said “no, the trailer looked horrible, and all of the other spoof movies were also shit. Why the fuck would this one be good?” I didn’t go see it, and I saved $11 dollars. Score! But my question is WHY THE HELL DO PEOPLE KEEP WATCHING THESE MOVIES, THEY SUCK! If the trailer sucks, chances are that the movie will suck as well.
