We Are Green

wearegreen

Much opposed to the whole green movement, I have decided to make my site more eco friendly by not drawing my comics on paper anymore. I bought myself a Wacom tablet, and once I get used to it there will probably be a lot of higher quality comics on the site. Anyways, that isn’t the point of the post but it’s a decent segue.

I’ve been told that I need to recycle more often. This is true, I’ve thrown bottles, cans, cups, and newspapers in the garbage a countless number of times. This was solely for the reason of convenience. Convenience how? Well, I am not going to carry an empty bottle around until I find a recycling bin. The city of Toronto does a great job of having both a garbage bin and a recycling bin on mostly every street corner, the same can’t be said about other cities. I would be walking around on the beach and I would be drinking a Coke, having finished said Coke I choose to get rid of it. I’m not going to be an asshole and litter it on the ground, instead due to the lack of recycling I’m going to simply throw it in the garbage.

At home however, I always recycle because I have both right in front of me. The only thing that was confusing (before they fixed it) was the recycling company asking me to sort my paper, with my plastic. They later gave up on that and started to sort it themselves. However the convenience for me to recycle is there at home, so I’m going to do it.

Then comes the really confusing moments, when you have something to throw out and only a part of that item is recyclable. I remember being told that only the lid of a Tim Hortons cup was recyclable because it was made of plastic. The rest was not. I can’t confirm this but I’ve seen people taking off the lid, throwing the lid in the recycling, and the cup in the garbage. My question is, isn’t the cup made out of paper?

One great solution for my ‘ever so troubling’ dilemma is having more recycling bins in public. This way there won’t be millions of plastic bottles in landfills.

Remember!

iremember

Just a quick post this week as I am busy with some other things. One thing that pissed me off recently is when people younger than me say “remember in the good old days?”

I’m sorry? Good old days? I lived as long if not longer than you and I don’t remember any good old days. This phrase should not be used by anyone under 60. Forgive Us Crazy Kids, Your Opinion’s Unwanted.

Dislike!

dislike

Lately, Facebook has been flooded with a whole wave of requests to create a “dislike button.” Now I see where this is all coming from. You “like” a status and you should be able to “dislike” a status. But the reality of it is, if you dislike a status, why would you even comment on it?

And no, joining a group that says “If 1,000,000 people join this group Facebook will add a dislike button” won’t make there be one.

Snow Is Evil, Ask The Professionals At SMYR

 snow

Today in Toronto we had our first major snowfall of the season. It was a long awaited moment by many high school kids hoping for a snow day. It didn’t happen. Bummer right? No, because the same people that are bitching about the lack of snow, will soon be bitching at the amount of snow.

Snow is an inconvenience, you have to wake up early, shovel the drive way, and hope to god that your street got plowed already. So you managed to get onto the main road? Enjoy the traffic! Snow slows people down and you end up being late for work. When snow does that, it’s a fucking nuisance.

I am going to admit, snow looks good (at least when it’s white.) But then I walk somewhere and I see the yellow snow, or I see snow turning black from the roads and it looks horrible. It then melts and turns into slush and splashes all over your pants. Or you end up ruining your pants from the salt. Yeah, it REALLY looks good then.

So if you like snow, go ahead and like it. Just don’t change your mind in the middle of winter and start bitching about it. I dislike it, and it’s going to stay like that.

Update: Today it took me an hour to drive somewhere it usually takes me 20 minutes. Thank you snow!

LETS GO CLUBBING

drunkkids

It’s a fad that’s sweeping the nation. Dance-pop music. You see, the kids these days listen to the DJ music which cause the brain damage in their head, with their beating and their electro synth, so they don’t know what the jazz is all about. Anyways, enough parodying The Simpsons, this issue is serious. It seems “dance” music is becoming more and more popular. It seems that EVERYONE is listening to Lady Gaga and Kid Cudi now, it’s not just the Europeans anymore. This alone would not cause such a rage, but the fact of the matter is that this fad has spawned thousands of 15 year old girls going to all ages clubs and trying to be like their favourite hooker from the music television.

It’s quite funny to see 15 year olds trying to party like someone who can LEGALLY purchase alcohol. They go out of their way to try and get a fake ID to get into clubs, and to buy booze. Spoiler alert: A fake ID only works if you LOOK of age. Bouncers are not stupid, they see people trying to use fake IDs all the time. You are not the only fucking person in the world who has one. So continuing the story of the night, you are not able to drink at the club so you pre-drink. You go to this club and then you get grinded by 50 guys (then later you get butthurt whenever someone calls you a slut). When you finally get home your parents yell at you for being drunk, you call them idiots and say they’re unfair.

This has been a true story, it happens every weekend. Consult your Facebook newsfeed for more information.
