Facebook Creepin’ Is My Hobby

creeper

Facebook is a great tool, it helps us communicate and connect with our friends and coworkers. Unfortunately it is filled with egotistical bitches who over use the term “creeper.” Yes it seems that every man who says “hello” to you on the subway, or holds the door open for you is a “creeper.” These girls go around an think that just because a guy it nice, it means that he wants to rape her. Bitch, have you ever heard of chivalry? You know how you always complain how it doesn’t exist anymore? It is because your ego killed it! Guys are afraid of being nice because they will look like some kind of pedophile or rapist.

I was once on the subway and this girl was taking about how “some creeper kept looking at her and smiling.” I filled with rage right there and I wanted to just start an argument with her right there but I didn’t because I knew I’d be a part of her Facebook status update. Anyways, I wanted to just tell her “the only reason he was smiling at you is because he thought you looked nice.” How does showing a slight bit of affection turn you into a creeper these days? What happened to the days where you had do stalk the woman for 2 years and write your name on her car door?

Another story, I was talking with this one girl (who I knew) and I mentioned something she posted on her Facebook. She then responded “what, do you creep my Facebook?” No, I saw it on my newsfeed and it interested me. Plus, you are posting your information in a public place, why are you so shocked someone read it? So no, I did not “creep” your profile, I just read some fucking information you posted. Shocking isn’t it?

I Have A Telephone System

cellnumbers

One thing I could never understand is those groups on Facebook that say “GOT A NEW PHONE, NEED NUMBERS.” Something like that is just ridiculous since it is basically a public database of phone numbers. I can view total stranger’s numbers. Sure they were meant for a certain someone to see, but shit happens when you post it in a public place. Next time do it over something that is a two way convo such as an email or an instant message. It seems people are forgetting what a “group” is, a group is not the same thing as a bulletin message. If you were in school you wouldn’t create a “I GOT A NEW PHONE AND NEED NUMBERS club.”  However safety and security isn’t the reason why I dislike those groups.

Why I dislike them is because instead of the person going through the contact list on their old phone and simply going through everyone they find is simpler to re-ask EVERYONE instead of the people they used to have. If the person was to go through their old phone to get the numbers they would have all of them right away, with Facebook a person might take a day, or even a week to give you that phone number. Modern and even older phones have an option to export your contact list, most often it is on a SIM card or sometimes it syncs with your Outlook contacts. If you can pull that off then you re-obtain all your contacts within a couple of seconds.  No matter how you do it it’s faster without Facebook.

What Goes Around Is Called Anal

karma

Too many times in the past week have I heard people say the word “karma,” and frankly I think it’s a large pile of crap. The belief that “what goes around comes around” can be so misrepresented that people will devote their whole lives to being a good person. This is common among all religions, if you are a good person in life then you will be rewarded in the afterlife. It’s a bit of an empty trade off, someone promises you something and you take their word for it. Anyways with religions aside, I’ve heard many “atheists” saying that they believe in karma because it’s true. Bullshit.

The first part of this is basically common sense. Say I spend my life stealing, dealing drugs, and doing other acts of violence.  That lifestyle is eventually going to get me arrested. Not because of karma, but because of probability. The more I do it, the greater chance I have of getting arrested. Furthermore, if I hate someone and constantly make fun of them chances are they will hate me too. So the hate I put into this person is going to come back at me. This is not karma, this is just revenge.

Secondly, just because one thing follows another thing, it doesn’t mean that x caused y. This is known as “post hoc ergo propter hoc.“  Just because I steal a car then later get cancer, it doesn’t mean that stealing the car caused the cancer. There is nothing that links the two scientifically. Saying that it’s karma would indicate a cosmic force at work. So this cosmic force “magically” gave me cancer as a punishment for stealing a car? Yeah okay, whatever you say Mr. “I don’t believe in a god.”

Face it, if karma was real then why is it that there are so many rich “evil people.”  People who lie and steal and get away with it? People who are never punished for their sins and wrong doings. It’s simple, karma is a load of crap from the hippy age. They just thought it was real because they were high all the time.

Why Did The Pedestrian Cross The Road?

pedes

So recently there was some bullshit that was going down in the street of Toronto. A bunch of people (see: idiots) wanted the city to change the speed limit on ALL STREETS to 10km/h. Yes ten, that’s not a typo. The reason for this is Toronto seems to be having a problem with pedestrians and cyclists getting run over. All the blame goes to the driver of the car, always.

It starts off with pedestrians, they are in a hurry to go to work or to catch a bus so they cross the street in the middle of nowhere. Hey asshole, that’s what an intersection is for. These pedestrians feel that THEY always have the right of way. There would be a left turn arrow for cars to turn, then there would be a pedestrian trying to cross. Here’s a tip: it says “don’t walk” for a reason. If you get hit, it’s your own fucking fault. Sure the driver COULD have stopped, but you also COULD have waited an extra 15 seconds.

Cyclists make the whole thing worse by trying to be a pedestrian/car hybrid but fails at being both. They try to ride their bikes on the street and manage to create traffic by blocking a lane. Then they use the crosswalk to get to the other side. When they use the sidewalk they just end up running into people. “Get out of my way” they say. No asshole, stop riding your bike into me. I’d say biking should only be allowed in the special biking lanes, but there aren’t a lot of them and it would be impossible to get around. The city of Toronto is also spending large amounts of money trying to improve the conditions for cyclists including paving the snow in the winter for bike routes. Are you fucking kidding me? Who the hell goes biking in the winter anyways? All resources should be put into paving the streets. After all, hundreds of thousands of people use them, daily.

So the moral of the story? Watch out for cars, they are dangerous.

Close Minded

closedminded

Over the past year I’ve been told I’m many things. One of these things was being “closed minded.” Often this came from the fact that I didn’t believe the same thing as someone else. An example of this is me not believing in animal rights, or not believing in a god. I am closed minded because I don’t believe what the other person believes. But isn’t it closed minded of them for believing in something, and not accepting an alternative?

I believe in things that are presented to me with valid evidence. If someone tells me they saw a ghost, I will say “prove it.” If I was “open minded” and believed that someone who told me they saw a ghost I could have simply believed a lie. I would then accept that lie and make a claim that “ghosts are real because someone told me they saw one.” Without actually seeing the ghost, I am taking someone else’s belief and using it as my own without any evidence to back up why I believe in ghosts. Such is the case with religion, I was never presented with any proof of a god therefore I will not believe in a god.

For some people being open minded means that I have to agree with them. On the contrary, if I were to agree with everybody I wouldn’t have my own opinion about a subject. There can’t be a world were everyone believes in everything, there will always be someone who disagrees with you. One person also can’t believe in two things that contradict. For example a Catholic who believes in Evolution. However you have people who have two ideas that contradict, and when they argue with you they try to make a valid point. When you disagree with them, they call you closed minded.

Is it bad to be closed minded? Having an open mind can be a really bad thing. If you are a judge, who are you going to believe? If the judge was open minded he would believe both people. But in the real world someone needs to make a decision with proof. If one person can proove that they didn’t do what they are being charged for then they are free to go. However if they can’t  proove it chances are they are guilty and have to be sent to prison.

So am I closed minded for believing in what I believe? Yes and no, I don’t let people tell me something and accept it as fact. If someone can provide me evidence for believing in then I will consider it before accepting it.
